I didn't pick up a camera because I wanted to be a photographer. I picked it up because I wanted to capture moments of my son.
That's where it started — trying to freeze the small things before they disappeared. But once I had a camera in my hands, curiosity took over. I started shooting more. Experimenting more. And somewhere along the way I realized that what I loved most wasn't posed portraits or staged setups — it was real moments. Unscripted. Unfiltered. The kind you can't recreate once they're gone.
That led me to photojournalism in its truest sense. Sports, yes — but also politics, community, protest, and everything in between. I've covered athletic events and I've stood on the streets of Jacksonville documenting marches and political demonstrations with the same approach: find the real story, let the place speak, and don't get in the way of the moment. Some of my biggest inspirations aren't sports photographers — they're photojournalists who cover campaigns, conflicts, and communities. Pete Souza. Evan Vucci. Photographers who walk into unpredictable situations and come back with images that move people.
I played soccer from childhood through college, and that background shapes how I shoot to this day. I understand how athletic moments build and break. I anticipate action rather than just react to it. But that same instinct — reading a situation before it happens — applies just as much to a political rally as it does to a finish line.
My philosophy is that context is everything. When I photograph a race through downtown St. Augustine, I'm not just shooting runners. I'm shooting St. Augustine. The city is the story. The athletes are what bring it to life. That approach — treating the environment as a character, not just a backdrop — is what I bring to every assignment, whether it's a 5K, a rodeo, a surf competition, a concert, or a march through the streets of Jacksonville.
I'm based in Northeast Florida and I'm still building. I've had the opportunity to photograph some incredible events — from professional surfing competitions to Red Bull skateboarding events to live music performances — and every one of them has pushed me to grow. I'm not where I want to be yet. But I'm moving in the right direction and I'm not slowing down.
If you're a publication, brand, or organization looking for a photographer who shows up prepared, reads a room fast, and genuinely cares about telling the story right — I'd love to connect.
